Water Once a Week Containers
Most amateur gardeners want the best crops they can grow with as little extra effort as possible. Our unique water once a week containers are designed with you in mind. They each have a subsoil water reservoir which reduces water use by minimising evaporation. In addition water is wicked up by capillary action to an expander pad which ensures even water distribution to the soil over laying it.
Optimal soil moisture is beneficial to growth as the roots are never to dry or too wet. These containers cannot be over watered as they have overflow holes just above the dispersal matting to allow extra water to escape from in case of torrential downpours from the heavens.

Why sub soil irrigation?
Top watering causes two things.
Slightly under watering will cause root growth to come to the surface of a container as roots are hydro trophic i.e. they grow towards water. This can leave them at risk to damage on hot sunny days.
Over watering leaves the roots saturated and stunts growth and causes yellowing of the leaves. In conventional containers the excess water has nowhere to escape unless holes are drilled in the base or sides of the containers in some arbitrary positions.
Sub soil irrigation using our unique wicking and dispersal matting system draws water up from the reservoir by capillary action to keep the soil optimally moist as water is replaced in the soil only when it is used by the plants for photosynthesis i.e. growth when water carbon dioxide and sunlight are combined in chloroplasts, cells containing the green pigment in plants. This system never shocks the plants and creates optimal growth conditions for enhanced cropping and yields.
Watering into the reservoir weekly to top up the water reservoir is the only effort that is required, once you have sown the seeds, to grow wonderful crops. Liquid fertiliser can be added directly to the reservoir whenever it is required.
These containers even allow you to go away for a long weekend without involving friends or neighbours in your gardening just to keep things alive. The water reservoir is of a sufficient size in all our containers to support plants for a week without worry.
Not only are they very attractive and available in a large range of colours and sizes but they actually increase the yield and reduce the effort and commitment required over conventional containers which often require watering daily and develop all the problems associated with top watering.
Suitable for all sorts of plants from tomatoes to strawberries and salad crops to herbs, they will allow you to become one of the grow your own brigade and enjoy the delights of picking fresh vegetables from your own garden without becoming a slave to it.
